Join us Thursday night at Café Gravity for our weekly songwriter showcase! You can expect an intimate night of music with local songwriters as they discuss their process and divulge the stories behind their music.
This week’s guests are Jer Richmond and Rocket Alexander.
This isn’t your typical night of live entertainment. Our guest songwriters are on stage together and trade-off songs two at a time. This casual format creates a dialogue between our guests and the audience facilitating a unique look behind the craft of local artists.
The show starts at 7pm and there is no cover charge to attend. Donations to the artists are welcome and encouraged. Both cash and electronic options are available at the venue to facilitate donations.

This week I've invited my very good friend Tony Harrison to join me in the song-circle. Tony's songs are thoughtful and well constructed. His stories are vivid and he has a voice of his own with a recognizable influenced from alt-country heavy hitters like Jason Isbell.

Songwriter night is back at Gravity! This month we've got Kyle Green and Melyssa Lee joining Rocket on Stage. Kyle is a personal hero of mine. Love his tunes. I met Melyssa through my vocal coach. Her songwriting is heartfelt and her guitar playing is raucous. Really looking forward to hearing their tunes!
Rocket Alexander hosts local songwriters at Calgary's favourite coffee shop. Hear the stories and the songs that shape our community. Very excited to have guest songwriter Carly Reirson joining this evening. Carly is a captivating storyteller with an enchanting voice whose songs perfectly capture modern-life on the prairies.
We're also happy to welcome Kevin Arizona to the Gravity stage this month. Kevin is a rocker at heart and life long song writer, who relates stories that wander through life’s challenges, ups and downs.
